We are privileged to have Jack Shea speak to the spirituality of this liturgical time of the year. He is a creative writer, theologian, storyteller and poet.

All of us have had the experience of the loss of a loved one to death. In today's pandemic world, we see grieving pictures and daunting statistics on the news on a daily basis. It is a cultural constant, turning us into a people of grieving and remembering the ones we have lost.

During Holy Week, we walked together through events of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Now, during this Easter season, will our hearts find a way to bring hope into our grief and remembering?

Jack Shea is a consultant with decades of experience in providing theological and formation services to parishes and faith-based organizations. He was the former Professor of Systematic Theology and former Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at the University of St. Mary of the Lake. He was Research Professor at the Institute of Pastoral Studies, Loyola University, Chicago. Jack has published more than twenty books.

Presented live as a Zoom Webinar.

We will email you the link day of the presentation.

A Prayer for Spiritual Communion

Drive-Up Outdoor Reception of Holy Communion

For the past few months, we realize that many of our parishioners have gone without reception of Holy Communion due to Covid-19. We recognize that many of you are not comfortable returning to Mass inside the Church and truly miss receiving Communion. Therefore, after much prayer, consultation and following public health guidelines, Saint Anne Catholic Community will offer drive-up outside reception of Holy Communion on Sunday afternoons from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. (Main Parish parking lot) and on Thursday afternoons from 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. (Parish Center Building parking lot).

We encourage you to view our daily reflection or Mass online prior to receiving Communion or prepare in a worthy way. Please form a line of cars in the designated area. Sanitize your hands and wear a face covering. Lower your window when the priest, deacon or Eucharistic minister approaches your car. Reverently receive the consecrated Eucharist in your hands. Communion will be available on both sides of your vehicle. Please spread the word to parishioners you may know who would like to receive the Blessed Sacrament. For additional information, please contact Mary Ellen Johnston, Director, Care Ministries 773.456.6664 or mejohnston@stannebarrington.org
