Nice people, good food, great conversation!
Rory Cooney, our Director of Liturgy and Music, will guide us through The Challenge of Paul, Parts 3 and 4, via video presentation and discussion. Our first session will include a recap of Parts 1 and 2 – all are welcome!
Paul is the guy people love to hate. We hear him say that women should cover their heads and keep quiet in the assembly, unmarried people should stay that way and that wives should be submissive to their husbands. But he is also the author of the great “three things that last” letter about love, the one who imagined the church as the body of Christ and proclaimed that in Christ, there are no divisions of gender, nationality or status. What gives? Was he schizophrenic? Or is something else going on here?
We invite you to spend Thursday evenings with fellow parishioners to share in a soup supper and prayer along with discussion and reflection. Each evening a different chapter from this work will be presented via DVD.
Thursday evenings, beginning February 21st through April 11th (except Thursday, March 21st and Thursday, March 28th) 6:30 p.m. – Hospitality Room (lower level of Church building)
There is no cost to participate; however, we do ask that you register so that we can be prepared with an appropriate amount of soup and bread.
Please register by contacting Carla Czyzewski at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 847.620.3069.
We hope that The Challenge of Paul will be a meaningful part of your journey toward a deeper faith and fuller life in Christ.
