Cardinal Cupich wrote to me the other day and asked me to inform you, via the Clarion, that a priest from the Diocese of Rockford, Father Michael Black, has been celebrating the Eucharist in people’s homes in our area and that some of our parishioners have been attending those Masses.
Father Black has restrictions placed upon him from Bishop Malloy of the Rockford Diocese. He does not have faculties nor permission to minister or celebrate Mass in the Archdiocese of Chicago. He should not be provided with any support; nor should parishioners participate in any of the services that he is attempting to offer.
