Dear Parishioners of Saint Anne Catholic Community,
Happy Advent to all! I hope this communication finds you enjoying this season to the fullest! When reflectingon Advent, two words come to mind: preparing andwaiting. Advent is the season of preparing our heartsto remember Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem over twothousand years ago. We have been waiting in devoutand joyful expectation for his coming again in hisglorified body. This time of the year, while it isfrequently referred to as “the most wonderful time,”can be very stressful as well! It is easy to get distractedwith lengthy to-do lists which may lead us away fromdiscovering a deeper, more meaningful relationshipwith Jesus Christ. However, at Saint Anne ParishSchool, we are striving every day to be in the moment! We have been asking God to help us prepare our heartsfor Jesus. We have been busy ensuring we keep focuson the reason for this season. We have stayedsteadfast in our commitment to our school’s focuson Advent, the beginning of the Church year, whenwe prepare for the coming of the Messiah. You may be wondering what inspires me. It isseeing Jesus in the faces and actions of our studentsand adults in our community. One constant for Saint Anne Parish School is our mission to love and serve one another. We have been entrenched inmultiple service initiatives this Advent season thathelp the local Barrington area, along with oursharing parishes, St. Frances of Rome, St. Columbanusand St. Martin de Porres. I am so proud ofthe willingness to participate in these worthycauses in an effort to spread holiday cheer to thosein need. I am also inspired by Matthew Kellyʹs workand, during this Advent season, his words havetouched me deeply. He stated in one of his DynamicCatholic editions that the world doesn’t need anotherMother Teresa. God created one Mother Teresa wholived an incredible life being the very best version ofherself. Now the world needs all of US! God has giveneach of us gifts, talents, hopes and dreams. He is working in us, among us and between us, to draw hose gifts out into amazing possibilities resulting in holy encounters with Him. As Catholic Christians, weneed to stay focused on becoming the best version ofourselves. God wants us to stay focused on helpingothers become their best version as well! This is whatwe strive to do each day at Saint Anne Parish School, and I believe we are very successful at accomplishingthis!
In closing, please enjoy these pictures of our studentsembracing this Advent season. I hope it gives you alens into our parish school and the opportunity to seehow our students strive each and every day to be thelight for others.
