Dear People of Saint Anne,
Grace and Peace to you from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Last weekend, I wrote to you regarding employees and parish staff members that had tested positive for COVID – 19. It was out of an abundance of caution and concern for you, our parishioners, in consultation with the Lake County Board of Health and the Archdiocese of Chicago that we chose to close our parish offices until September 4, 2020 and decided not to celebrate weekend and weekday Masses this past week. It is important to note that Father Joji, Father Rodolfo and myself tested negative for COVID – 19.
At this writing, except for one additional member of staff, every other parish staff member and parish office employee have tested negative for COVID – 19 and will return to work when the offices reopen on September 4th. The parish staff member is at home and doing well with minimal symptoms. Both Father Joji and Father Rodolfo need to be a part of this quarantine as their residence is in the parish office building.
The Parish Mass schedule is resuming this weekend. Saturday evening Mass at 5:15 PM. Sunday Masses at 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM in the Church. Weekday Masses at 8:15 AM – Monday through Friday. The Sacrament of Reconciliation on Tuesday after the 8:15 AM Mass. Please refer to Sign-up Genius on the website to make your reservations.
None of the affected staff members have been in the parish school building. In any case, this building is cleaned daily in a manner consistent with health department approved protocols. Our Parish School will open to students as scheduled on this coming Monday, August 31. Please see the parish school website for further details.
Yours in Christ, the Healer of our every ill,
Father Bernie Pietrzak
Pastor
