Hi Saint Anne’s Community!
My name is Amy Hodson and I’m so excited and blessed to be joining you as the new Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries! I’ve been the Associate Director of Teen Faith for 8 years with Holy Family Parish in Inverness, and was a volunteer catechist for a number of years prior. I am passionate about my work with teens, meeting them where they are at, helping them to find identity in who they are and who Jesus calls them to be, fostering a sense of belonging for them in this world and within their faith community, helping them find purpose, and overall walking with them on their journey of faith.
Why? Because Gen Z is our future. Actually, because Gen Z is our present – out there making waves and standing up for the many causes they believe in! They’re leaders, bold, passionate, creative, honest, hopeful, strong, and just. Imagine if this generation felt supported by their community? And not just their community, but their faith community? Imagine they were all of those things plus Christian. Christian leaders, boldly proclaiming the Word, passionate about Christ, strong in their faith. That’s a future I want to be a part of. That’s a present I want to influence right now. It’s the most worthwhile venture I can think of, and I’m grateful beyond imagination that I have the opportunity to do this work here at Saint Anne’s.
I have successfully led many Kairos and Confirmation retreats, Mission Trips, pilgrimages to the National Catholic Youth Conference, Peer Leadership trainings and ministries, youth group activities, small group discussions, and more. I bring many years of experience and ideas to the table, and I can’t wait to jump right in! Most importantly, though, I’m eager to get to know each of you, the young people and those who love the young people, here at Saint Anne’s. You already have such a beautiful and vibrant community that I can’t wait to become a part of! My door is always open, so please come and say hi, introduce yourself, and share your ideas and stories with me!
Outside of ministry, I’m a mom to three young boys – the best and hardest job I’ve had to date – and I’ve been married to my husband Chris for 8 years. I’m a big Cubs fan (although not a fan of the recent trades) and have a creative heart and hand. I’m a hobby entrepreneur and overall, just love getting to know people. Thank you for welcoming me into your community, and I’m excited to see all that God has in plan.
Peace and Blessings,
