Our parish is in need of men and women to serve as Ministers of Care and bring the Eucharist to our fellow parishioners who are in the hospital, senior residences, nursing facilities, are homebound or in hospice.
We would like to welcome additional parishioners as new Ministers of Care, especially for our ministry at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. There is a real need for support of this ministry especially during the winter months.
Will you consider reaching out to those in need by becoming a Minister of Care?
Archdiocesan training for new Ministers of Care will be held on Saturday, October 8th and Saturday, October 15th at St. James Parish Center, 820 North Arlington Heights Road from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Attendance at both sessions is required to be commissioned and mandated as a Minister of Care. The presentations will focus on Spirituality of the Ministry, Prayer in Care Ministry, Pastoral Communication Skills, Ministerial Procedures, Theology of the Eucharist, and the Experience of Suffering.
Please know that your participation will be tailored to accommodate your schedule.
If you are interested in becoming a Minister of Care, please contact Mary Ellen Johnston at 847.382.2148 or mejohnston@stannebarrington.org by September 26.
