Spring 2022

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Throughout every season of their lives, mothers make unimaginable sacrifices to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of their families. Through their selfless love, they ground and sustain us as we enter into the world and embark on our lives. The pandemic has disproportionately impacted mothers, especially mothers of color, single mothers, and those living on a low income. Catholic Charities works tirelessly to serve and accompany hundreds of these mothers each day by providing counseling for pregnant mothers, emergency assistance and housing for families facing homelessness and domestic abuse, and care and in-home services for aging mothers and grandmothers. Every day Catholic Charities works to bring Christʹs love and mercy to the mothers who need it most.

Each spring, we have an opportunity to support our Church’s work on behalf of mothers and theirfamilies through Catholic Charities’ Mother’s Day Collection. This is one of the most meaningful gifts wecan give in honoring this holiday, because it directly affects our Church’s outreach and work on behalf ofwomen and families in need. The work of Catholic Charities is unsurpassed throughout the Chicagoregion and your support will have a profound effect on mothers in need. Your kindness will help mothersprovide food and housing for their families and even assist mothers who have fled a country ravaged bywar and violence.

Please accept my gratitude for your past support of Catholic Charities’ Mother’s Day Collection, andplease consider being as generous as you can again this year. Contributions can be made three ways: 1)during the second collection on Mother’s Day at your Parish, 2) online at www.catholiccharities.net/donate, or 3) by mail at Catholic Charities, 75 Remittance Drive, Dept. 1623, Chicago, IL 60675-1623.May God bless you and those you love this Mother’s Day and always. With every good wish,

I remain
