Happy New Year and New Decade to you! I hope this new beginning brings abundant blessings your way. As you know, we just celebrated the two great seasons of Advent and Christmas and now have moved into Ordinary Time. As a school community, we have been reading the Gospel stories of Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist, and other stories from the bible about Jesus when he was a young boy. This is a great reminder for all of us that God sent His son, Jesus, to be a light for the world, and we, young and old, are also called to let our light shine! We are called to follow His example every day, at school and in our homes. We can unapologetically proclaim our love for the Lord in this house.. Saint Anne Parish School, and that is the reason for joy and great celebration!
Now that the end of January is here, the time has come to celebrate National Catholic Schools Week with our family in Faith across the Archdiocese of Chicago and across our nation! The theme for Catholic Schools Week 2020 remains “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” I am so proud of the ways in which we accomplish these four pillars with grace and excellence each and every day at Saint Anne Parish School! However, if I could add another pillar to this theme it would undoubtedly be LOVE. Everything we do at our school we do so with love. From the daily warmth and welcome of our office staff to the way in which our faculty is called into this vocation as Catholic School educators, everything is rooted in love for our Lord, and love for all of God’s children. Each beloved child of God is created in His image and we remind our students daily of their worth as they strive to be their very best selves inside and outside of school. Our parents demonstrate their love for their children as well by working in partnership with us to help their children develop a life-long relationship with God and with one another. Together, we help our young people to grow as His disciples, so that one day, they will become servant leaders, grounded in faith, knowledge and Christian service in a world they will inherit.
Please know that I am grateful to you, the parishioners of Saint Anne Catholic Community, for your unending support of our parish school. On behalf of the faculty/staff, I thank you for your incredible generosity and support of the children in this Catholic community. With that said, I ask for your prayers today. Please spread the word about our wonderful parish school to your friends and families with preschool through eighth grade students in the Barrington area and beyond. We need to celebrate every day the great work that is taking place in our parish school..not just during Catholic Schools Week but all year round!
We would like to extend an invitation for you to stop by the school, Sunday, January 26, for our Open House. If this day doesn’t work for you, please call our Admission Director, Mrs. Brittney Lazarz to set up an appointment to learn more about our school community. We are so proud of this parish school where our students “Learn. Serve. Lead. Success.” and are undoubtedly loved abundantly by all those they encounter each and every day. We take great pride in our mission here at Saint Anne Parish School to assist and mentor the children and young people of this parish, with whom we have been entrusted, in helping them grow as servant leaders that live a God-centered life where they love and serve the Lord!
God’s blessings today and always,
Mrs. Dawn Kapka
