The adults seeking to discover the Catholic Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) have been over the last months learning more about the word of God, the teachings of the Church, the community, prayer and apostolic works of service for others.
At a formal prayer service at Holy Name Cathedral on March 1st, the Church formally ratified the Elect’s readiness for the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist), and the Candidatesʹ readiness to be received into full Communion with the Catholic Church.
Normally, we would be looking forward with anticipation to the beautiful Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday during which we would join the Elect and the Candidates in renewing our commitment in faith to the service of the Risen Lord. Unfortunately, all of our Holy Week services, including the Vigil, have been cancelled in order to safeguard the health of our parishioners. We look forward to celebrating these Sacraments at a special liturgy with the whole Saint Anne Catholic Community once this crisis passes.
Please keep our Elect and Candidates in your prayers, as well as everyone who has been impacted by the COVID-19 virus.
Elect
John Stuart
Candidates
Holly Lockefeer, Dan Marschman, Peter Ruppe, Holly Slaters, and Kristin Soukup
Even though we cannot attend the services of Holy Week in person, they will be available to you through our parish eblasts or on our parish website at stannebarrington.org.
Father, during this time, may your Church be a sign of hope, comfort and love to all.
Grant peace. Grant comfort. Grant healing. Be with us, Lord.
Amen.
