STAGG (St. Anne Guys Group) needs your help for a few hours…
Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 8:00 a.m.
(Rain date is 9/12)
The ramps on the east side of our parish school gymnasiumneed some serious maintenance—removing rust and old paint, priming, and repainting the railing, and patching and skim coating the concrete walls.
Apart from needing to be done to extend the life of the current railings, we want to do this in conjunction with Phase II of our parish Laudato Si Garden initiative. Once STAGG completes its mission, the walls are going to be readied for muralist, KenMark….to work his magic. With input from students in both Saint Anne School and our Faith Formation program, Ken is going to design and paint a “creation mural” on the ramp walls. Below the mural, a native grass and ground cover garden will be planted. This will beautify the space for parish events such as Music Under the Stars as well as provide a curriculum component for both science and religion classes. It will also keep mud from flowing into the street whenever we have a heavy rain!
If you are interested in lending a hand, you can sign up online. We are shooting to have 23 guys to get the job done in short order. There are 150’ of railing to tackle. What could be more fun, right? Tools, hard work, camaraderie, and a BBQ lunch— all in the name of serving the parish and building community. If you have goggles and a grinder, bring ‘em! We’ll provide the wire brushes.

Giving Gardens: Goodness Shared
Thank you to the many parishioners who shared the abundant goodness of their gardens! Our first vegetable collection was a great success. Not only did we give away tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, eggplant, carrots, and beets to parishioners who do not have gardens, but we provided several cartloads of produce to our Project Hope Food Pantry. A big box of produce also went with parishioners attending Fr. Matt O’Donnell’s Installation Mass at Saint Moses the Black on Saturday afternoon. Their Food Pantry was thrilled to receive it!
