Dear People of Saint Anne,
We would like to thank you all for your ongoing support of the Legacy of Faith campaign. Of the roughly $7.1 million in pledges, we have received over $4.6 million in gifts so far.
The Legacy of Faith Campaign Executive Committee has been working to finalize plans for renovations and improvements to the Church. Over the Easter Sunday weekend, we included an article in the Clarion describing the details of this next phase of Church improvements. We also placed color renderings in the Gathering Space to let everyone see how our worship and meeting spaces will be improved. Please visit here for a full description of these projects.
The response to the new plans has been overwhelmingly positive, and some of you have asked questions about them. We will include answers to frequently asked questions about the plans and provide progress reports. Below is the first set of questions.
Question: Who are the members of the Legacy of Faith Campaign Executive Committee (the CEC)?
Answer: The CEC has been comprised of the same members since the beginning of the campaign: Greg and Anna Brown (Honorary Co-Chairs), Bill Graff (Parish Council and CEC Chair), Julie Andrews, Margaret Buckstaff, Joe Elias, Christine Jodoin, Fr. Bernie Pietrzak, David Wirt, Andrea Wirt and Jim Young. In making its decisions, the Committee remains faithful to the campaign’s original priorities and has the support of the Parish Council of Ministries, the Parish Finance Council, the School Advisory Board and the Parish Core Staff.
Question: The coffee bar design is beautiful! However, will it be practical, given that the space is to be used to serve food to adults and children?
Answer: Yes. While the artist rendering includes stools in front for effect, the coffee bar/buffet will not have them. It will be an open hospitality service surface for serving, as it is now. A feature that is not evident in the rendering is a lower hospitality service counter between the bar/buffet and the back wall for serving children and the disabled.
Question: Do we need chair covers for the Hospitality Room, as depicted in the rendering?
Answer: No. Again, the artist rendering shows chair covers to convey the enhanced appearance of the Hospitality Room.
Question: With all of the beautiful work being done on the Church side, will we have enough money left to renovate the Parish Center?
Answer: Yes. We have budgeted each project carefully, based on the pledges made. As we have stated since the beginning of the campaign, no projects will be undertaken until the funds are already in hand to complete them.
We are confident that the changes will create a more inviting and updated place of worship and fellowship for our community. If you have any other questions about the plans or your pledge, please contact Andrea Wirt, Campaign Coordinator, at LegacyofFaith@stannebarrington.org.
Thank you for your generosity to Saint Anne and Legacy of Faith! Sincerely,
Father Bernie Pietrzak, Pastor
