A great way for young people to learn about what it means to serve others is for them to participate in a service trip. The experience of full immersion in an area where a young person can interact directly with those who are most in need can do wonders in developing a sense of Christian service and charity within them.
For one week during June, students, who have completed one year of high school, serve the people of Chicago in a multi-cultural community experience. Students stay at Maria Koupos in Chicago and travel to various sites during the day to serve the marginalized of our city. During the evenings the group comes back together to share their experiences with one another and reflect on the meaning and impact of their work.
Please note that all adult volunteers who are working with children are required to fulfill all Protecting God’s Children components including attending a safe environment program (VIRTUS).
