Funerals during COVID-19
We know that this is a time of great difficulty. Please know that Saint Anne Catholic Community is committed to helping you during your time of need.
If you plan to bury or cremate your loved one immediately, we can arrange for one of our priests to lead a prayer service at one of the local funeral homes or offer commendation prayers at the cemetery of your choice. We can now accommodate 150 guests at a Funeral Mass.
If your loved one is interred while group gatherings are limited, we can plan a Memorial Mass at a future date once the restrictions are lifted. If you choose to retain the cremated remains of your loved one, we will work with you to plan a Funeral Mass that honors your loved one’s life.
The bereavement ministers at Saint Anne are pleased to work with you either by phone, email or Zoom to plan for a future Funeral Mass or Memorial Mass. Information that includes the readings and hymns will be provided as you plan the liturgy together for a future date when we are able to gather in the church.
Our staff can provide technology options in the event that friends or relatives are unable to travel or attend the service. With the use of video and phone conference technology, people can pray from a distance with as many as you wish.
If your loved one dies, please notify our parish and we will include their name and pray for them during the videotaping of our Sunday Mass. For information about funerals, please call Mary Ellen Johnston, Director of Care Ministries at 773.456.6664 or mejohnston@stannebarrington.org
