These volunteers work to identify, affirm and develop programs to serve those who suffer, by advocating needed change, preventing conditions that lead to hopelessness and nurturing environments that bring healing before crises. This is achieved by various groups such as:
House of Hope:
This shop supports the work of Project Hope and Social Concern. House of Hope offers select used furniture and other household items donated by northwest suburban residents and businesses. For location of House of Hope and hours, call (847) 381-5721.
Michael Joseph Foundation:
This affiliated organization demonstrates care for the poor and homeless by providing transitional housing for families who seek self-sufficiency.
Habitat for Humanity:
Local Barrington Churches have formed a partnership which is affiliated with Northern-Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity. This organization builds a home for a family who could not otherwise afford it.
Crop Walk:
The hunger walk, sponsored through Church World Services, is held each fall. For more information, call Adrienne Kalmes at (847) 382-3626.

Employment Resourcing
Hospice:
A community program that provides in-home care for and support of the terminally ill and their families.
Illinois Head Injuries Association:
Lifesource Blood Drive:
Held twice a year at the parish.
Medical Claims Service:
Help in filing, appeals and payment advice.
Public Aid to Deliver Shelter (P.A.D.S.):
A local emergency shelter for the homeless in the area.
Respite Care:
A service provided to relieve a caretaker of an older person or shut-in.
Society for the Preservation of Human Dignity (P.H.D.):
A Christian agency for pregnancy help with dignity for girls and women located in Palatine, Illinois.
