Project Hope provides three types of pantry support for area families in crisis. Each offers volunteer opportunities for both adults and High School students.
Emergency Food Pantry—feeds walk-in clients during Project Hope business hours
Volunteer opportunities include sorting and shelving food, purchasing food and gift certificates with ministry funds, picking up orders., etc. (ongoing, flexible hours)
Mobile Food Pantry/Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) — feeds over 400 people in District 220
Volunteers greet families and unload and distribute food items one Thursday of each month from October through June. Volunteers work from 3:30pm through final distribution (6pm or later). (one-time or short term commitment)
Local Food Pantry—feeds specific group of families once per month
Volunteers guide grocery selections on the last day of the month from 4 to 5pm. (one year commitment)
